Work from Home vs Coworking Space

I dreamt. I plan. I came into action and I Won. You just read your story, your ‘will be’ professional journey story.  You have a dream, you plan for it and it’s the time for execution.

All set with your laptop to kill the day. But baaaam your mum just interfere you or maybe your dog, who is showering all the world’s love for you today or your annoying little siblings. That is what working at home sounds like.

The other option is to work in an office,  and for freelancers and budding entrepreneurs “coworking office ” is the answer.

But paying for space, when you can work at the comfort of your home?

Choosing a workplace is an important decision and if you are unable to decide which one to go for. We provide you with the following advantages and disadvantages of a home office and coworking space that will help you to settle on the correct choice.

COST

We all know, finance is one of the major aspects in making the decision and we can’t ignore the fact that working at home is free whereas the other one is definitely not.

Not only the renting charge but working at home also saves one from the pain of daily commuting and its fares and the time too.

And if you are in Delhi, or in any other metro city, you must be knowing how the roads welcome you, especially during the office hours. Also, Eating out with your coworkers, hanging out ( if you choose to) would only add to the budget.

PRODUCTIVITY

I think there is a no-brainer that working at home vs working at the office has an altogether different level of productivity. One just can’t work at home.

And how can one, with – “Can you bring the vegetables ?” “Pick up the prescription?” “Get your uncle from the airport?’’ and yes also the one you are thinking right now.

Moreover, homes have a purpose, that is to calm you down when you return from the long workday. Home should feel cosy where you just Netflix and chill. Work at such a place? Naah.

Networking

Business networks and relationships are crucial for any entrepreneurs. Coworking spaces allow you to network with like-minded people. With people, with whom you can share your idea with, take advice from or just take the feedback.

You might also find your next client among your coworkers. Such spaces, surround you with ‘like, a-like’  people. Network with them and grow your business. Also, Coworking spaces occasionally held up meetups and events, adding more people to your network.

Amenities

We know that your home is the best place to live in, with all the amenities at your steps. But do your home provide free unlimited Tea and Coffee? What about uninterrupted high-speed wifi? Scanner, printer, front desk service, mail and package handling, unique game, and common area and most importantly the office boy for your last minute run errands. Coworking place covers you up with everything.

Environment

A work environment with no colleagues to disturb you, no distractions, no short talks, no office politics, no boss to check you on, that’s what home office provides you. But let’s get real, when one starts working, there will be a time when you don’t feel like working and since nobody is around to check you on, you would rather sleep whereas at a coworking place when you see people working, you are more likely to work as well.

CONCLUSION

It’s a clear win for “co-working space” with only 1 point in favour of working from home. Leaving no confusion about what to choose and what not. Even if money is something that bothers you, you cannot ignore the monetary benefits of coworking space in the long run. So here, we leave you with the decision of choosing your workplace. You can always try working from home, but does give the shared workplace a shot and see what options suits you best.
