Coworking Space is the new diversity trend. A shared working space extends a space that you can efficiently put to use for your startups, freelance work or any other professional work. While this place does not have any rules and regulations to maintain the decorum but it becomes your responsibility to pay back the place offering you productivity with discipline and decency. 

Coworkers are often muddled up in the curiosity whether to do or not to do a lot of things.

CoworkDelhi presents to you a list of the DO’s and DON’Ts while you work at a Coworking Space.

THE DO’s

1) Say Hello : Embrace the definition of Coworking – and the first step that you can undertake is to smile and say hello or good morning to other coworkers. Saying hello will be a significant step in the ultimate process of networking and growing as a person and with your business at one time. It is always mesmerizing to be kind and friendly, isn’t it?

2) Introduce Yourself : How would you really begin networking without introducing yourself? It’s a prerequisite! And remember how they say “First impression is the last impression”. Introduce yourself with confidence and have faith in yourself, and if you are nervous to the core of the last breath, take a deep breath in and breathe out all your insecurities away. Everyone here is just like you with a vision in the mind and courage in the heart. 

3) Connect and Collaborate : This might be in continuation to the 1st and 2nd point but after you have introduced yourself ; give the other coworkers to introduce themselves. It has to be a two way connectivity and communication. Communication will lead to a connection to improvise and build a better trusted collaboration if any.

4) Use headphones for videos : Do you believe in not disturbing others while you are indulged in listening to some music or watching any videos? If not then this is the space to imbibe this quality as well! Make this a habit to always put your headphones to work to not disturb others.

5) Respect Boundaries : While you must have your own set of boundaries and limitations while you are at a Coworking Space, you must always always always respect the boundaries of other coworkers. 

6) Clean up after yourself : No wonder a Coworking Space always has office boys appointed to look after a lot of stuff, but you must always clear your little things. It is a discipline that will always help you in your life spent other than at a  Coworking Space as well. Do not let litter define you in ways you do not wish for. 

7) Use Common Sense : I am not sure why is it called Common Sense if it is so difficult for a set of people. Anyways, think twice before putting up baseless and stupid questions or discussions infront of other coworkers unless you are extremely comfortable with them. It is time killing and unnecessary for you and for them as well. 

8) Participate in Events : The Coworking Team is always on their toes to bless your monotonous and working life with a little change. It deprives them of confidence and interest to organize events and parties when you do not turn up for them. Participate and Enjoy life other than work.

9) Celebrate Diversity : Always be a good human first and then try to be anyone else at all. A good human always respects, appreciates and celebrates people around. Does it matter what age, strata, business they belong? What really matters is that they are here just like you to work and achieve goals. 

10) Support your fellow freelancers : But how are you going to appreciate? Mere words are never enough in this technological and fast paced world. Refer and let them grow with you. All that connection and communication will strive in here when you all will support the hard work of others along with yours. 

11) Spread the word : Let other people know about the awesomeness of a Coworking Space. Who knows you can get a bunch of your favorite people along at your Coworking Space. Spread the word : COWORKING

DON’Ts

1) Manage the noise : Coworking Space is made up of many people. The obligation to work here is to respect other coworkers as well. You must always carry the decency to lower your voice or take those important phone calls at someplace elsewhere you are not a disturbance for other coworkers. 

2) Do not overuse the services : The same set of services is allocated to other coworkers too. If you are overusing the Meeting Room or Conference Room more than the time specified beforehand, you are disturbing the ethics of a Coworking Space already. 

3) Friendly not Over Friendly : There is a thin line in between the both and it can be the decision coin of justifying your behaviour. Going over the top to be comfortable is a bad idea which needs to be killed on it’s very onset in the mind. 

4) Do not overstay at meeting rooms : Use resources to your best and of others of course. Especially when you are dealing with Meeting Rooms. Remember the table is little and you have to adjust your food accordingly or you don’t get the table at all. 

Ethics and Etiquettes are not only required at a Coworking Space. If you imbibe these ethics in yourself even generally when you’re dealing with any humans or animals – thank me later for making life easy peasy.
