FUTURE IS FEMALE

It’s 2019 and if you still think that women’s job is only confined till kitchen, sorry but you are wrong and you need to revamp your thinking or maybe revamp your full self. With women entrepreneurs all around, India is witnessing a whole new era of Boss  Ladies.

Being a boss lady does not mean being an anti-male. There is no doubt that India has been a male-dominating society. The country that has always seen male C.E.O’s and C.F.O’s, it is often that if you are working and working in a great position, you would be mistaken for misandry. Or, if not that, women are believed as an outsider to ‘work’, who cannot withstand competitive nature and aggressive business tactics.

But look around, ladies like Shradha Sharma ( Founder-YourStory), Kiran Shaw (Founder-Biocon ltd.) and Naina Lal Kidwai are the scenario changer, changing the future business scenario in India.

We are witnessing the storm of two eras coming together and changing the whole Indian business scenario. The one is of the woman, the other one is of a coworking workspace.

Coworking workspaces have aided the women entrepreneurship and thrived their work. There is an emerging trend of female-centric workspaces, not only in India but around the globe. But what could be the reason for working in a women-only coworking space? How can a workplace decide success parameters for anybody?

Here is how

The empowerment factor

No matter how much we say that men and women are equal, the ground reality is far from the ideals. There is no denying fact that in a corporate world man always had an upper hand. Women have never enjoyed the same freedom and responsibilities that men do. Even in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, the same applies. This is where a coworking space comes into the picture. A female-oriented shared office space allows women to surround themselves with other successful women. Thus when all ladies handling entrepreneurial responsibilities come together throws a message clearer and louder. Moreover, such a scenario inspires other women to follow their dreams, which is something that cannot happen at a male-dominating coworking space.

AFFINITY AND SUPPORT

Mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law and many more. Women are multi-faceted with umpteen number of responsibilities, work-life balance is not the same as for men. No doubt men have responsibilities too, but c’mon it’s India and we all know the truth. It’s never the same for two sexes. Especially for mothers, toggling between work and children is quite a daunting task. Most of the Women-coworking spaces have Foster care that is of real help. Also, at a working place like that one comes across other women who are in similar situations. This leads to a level of affinity and develops a comforting relationship with others.

Feeling of safety and security

India is a male dominating society, women feel socially isolated in most of the places. The very reason women are afraid of going to the office is security. It is mostly the families that restrict their daughters or wives from working because they feel the workplaces are not safe. In the past various cases have been filled for sexual harassment at a workplace. No doubt, that a  female-centric workspace implants a sense of safety and security.

This, in turn, helps feeling more relaxed thus more productive. Not only that, with women co-workers all around, the ease level increases leading to collaborations, ideas sharing and advice seeking from fellow co-workers.

Opportunity to network

Networking to business is the same as water to plants. One cannot thrive without the other. In a female-centric coworking, a woman paves an organic way to network with other women. Whereas in co-ed shared workplaces, women often are ignored, regardless of their position, which often acts as a hurdle in their career path. A women-only coworking space overcomes the lack of mentorship and thus help in building a bright future.
